Methods of Disposing of Your Household and Garden Waste

0

Having a clear-out of your house and garden can feel like a huge task – and there’s still the rubbish to get rid of once you’re done sorting everything out. Here are some methods of household and garden waste disposal so that you can focus on keeping everything tidy instead of worrying about the rubbish.

The garden can incorporate both natural and man-made materials. The most frequent form today is recognized as a residential garden, but the definition of garden has traditionally been a more general one. Zoos, which display wild animals in simulated natural habitats, were formerly called zoological gardens. Ome traditional kinds of eastern gardens, such as Zen gardens, use plants sparsely or not at all. Xeriscape gardens use local native plants that do not require irrigation or extensive usage of other resources while still providing the advantages of a garden environment. Gardens may exhibit structural enhancements, sometimes called follies, including water features such as fountains, ponds, waterfalls or creeks, dry creek beds, statuary, arbors, trellises and more.

Garden Waste

Some gardens are for ornamental purposes only, though some gardens also produce food crops, sometimes in separate areas, or sometimes intermixed with the ornamental plants. Food-producing gardens are distinguished from farms by their smaller scale, more labor-intensive methods, and their purpose. Flower gardens combine plants of different heights, colors, textures, and fragrances to produce interest and delight the senses.

Using Your Own Wheelie Bins

Smaller amounts of household and garden waste can be disposed of using the wheelie bins provided by the local council. For example, Charnwood Borough Council provides black bins for non-recyclable waste. These will need to be placed on the kerb before 7am on your designated collection day, which is based on your address and postcode. Green bins for recycling are also provided, but you must not use black bin bags, as the waste disposal workers will need to be able to see what’s in the bin before they empty it.

The council also offers garden waste removal for a small annual fee. For just £28 via Direct Debit, or £37 via other payment methods, you can receive a brown wheelie bin in which you can place garden waste to be taken away. The bins are emptied every fortnight. Otherwise if you are disposing commercial waste or disposing larger volumes than you bin allows.

Hiring a Skip

Hiring a skip can help you move household and garden waste quickly and efficiently. They don’t have to be especially large; local companies will have skips of all sizes based on what you think you’ll need. The skip will be delivered to your house and you can place the waste in it and arrange for it to be taken away once you’re finished. A small skip will hold about 40 bags of waste, while a medium-sized skip can hold about 80 bags. Wait-and-load services are also available from some companies to minimise the amount of time the skip spends on your street.

Arranging for Waste Collection Disposal

If you have quite a lot of rubbish to get rid of, and you don’t want to have a skip sitting in front of your house for a long time you could look locally. If you are based in Ansty you could consider hiring a waste collection disposal company in Charnwood for instance. The company will take the waste away and get rid of it for you. Some companies even offer better pricing if you segregate the waste into recyclable and non-recyclable materials. All you need to do is have the waste ready to be loaded into the van or lorry.
