Prime Minister of Norway Erna Solberg said on February 4th this country plans to cut at least of 40% of greenhouse gas emission by 2030 in compared with level in 1990. This is also the commitment of the Government of Norway for agreement on against climate change of the United Nations that is expected to be adopted at the end of this year in Paris (France).
Plan of the Norwegian Government is expected to be passed by congress because a majority of parliamentarians have voiced support for this objective. Although not a member of EU, but Norway still want to participate in the policy making on climate change, and pledged to continue to participate in the program on quota trading carbon emission of EU.
In 2013, greenhouse gas emission of Norway is 3.7% higher than the commitment in 1990 and it is higher than average levels of EU.
EU, China and the US also announced the commitment of the new agreement to against climate change of UN. However, these countries have not made specific reduction level. As a rule, these countries have announced specific reduction level at the end of March, but many countries said that they need more time.
At a conference on climate change was organized by the United Nations in Peru last year, the scientists said greenhouse gas is mainly generated by combustion of fossil fuels, it must be reduced from 40-70% by 2050 to avoid warming of the Earth./.
